Every January, Niagara’s wine country fills up with fire pits and tasting tents. The Niagara Icewine Festival runs January 15 to 31, 2027, and it’s more fun when someone else is driving. Here are the dates, passes and prices, plus how we get your group there from Toronto.

The pass dates weren’t out yet in October 2026. The 2026 pass ran across three weekends, so expect something similar.

The Niagara Icewine Festival wineries change from year to year, so check the official list before you plan a route. Twenty Valley sits closer to Toronto, and Niagara-on-the-Lake is further east. Going west to east saves driving time.

Icewine is made from grapes that freeze naturally on the vine. Under VQA rules, growers pick them at -8°C or colder, which is why the festival happens in January.

Icewine Discovery Pass Price and Types

The 2027 Icewine Discovery Pass price hasn’t been announced yet. Here is what the 2026 passes cost, before HST and fees.

The pass is the main tasting program at the Niagara Icewine Festival. You show a QR code at each winery, and it gets scanned once. Groups of eight or more must reserve in advance.

Niagara Icewine Festival Tickets

Official Niagara Icewine Festival tickets are sold at niagarawinefestival.com. In October 2026, the site only mentioned winter 2027. That means 2027 tickets weren’t on sale yet.

In past years, early-bird pricing ended in early December. We don’t sell festival tickets. We take care of the ride.

Cool As Ice Gala 2027

The gala is part of the Niagara Icewine Festival. It is on Saturday, January 30, 2027, at the Niagara Parks Power Station in Niagara Falls. The century-old building has a tunnel that leads toward the edge of the Falls. In 2026, Cool As Ice Gala tickets were $250 per person plus tax and fees. The evening ran from 7 pm to 11 pm.

That ticket covered icewine pours, cocktails and mocktails, food stations, live music and parking. It’s a dressy night, so bring a warm coat. The 2027 price hasn’t been announced.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Icewine Village

The Icewine Village takes over Queen Street in Niagara-on-the-Lake on January 16-17 and 23-24. Entry is free, and you can come and go during the day. Expect local wineries, chefs, artisans and fire pits. Families are welcome. Check the festival site to see how tastings are sold.

Niagara Icewine Festival Transportation from Toronto

Niagara-on-the-Lake is about 130 kilometres from Toronto, or roughly 90 minutes in clear weather. Snow and festival traffic can add time. Your options are a designated driver, a tour bus or a private vehicle. A private vehicle works best for groups.

A 375 mL bottle of Niagara icewine often starts around $50 and can pass $100, depending on the winery and grape. Smaller 200 mL bottles cost less. At the festival, the 2026 Mini Pass cost $35 for three icewine pairings, before HST and fees.

Where can I find the best ice wine in Niagara?

Niagara has no single best winery, but Inniskillin, Jackson-Triggs, Trius and Strewn are well-known icewine producers. Look for the VQA label on the bottle. The Icewine Discovery Pass lets you taste several wineries in one day.

When is the Niagara Icewine Festival in 2027?
